Invenco Group, a global provider of secure payment technologies, passes another milestone in its global pursuit of seamless EMV outdoor payment by completing the rigorous MasterCard® and Visa contactless certification testing on the G6 OPT pay@pump terminal. This certification ensures that Invenco payment devices work with a complete stack of contactless card and mobile device payment methods.

With over 20,000 EMV terminals now deployed on forecourts across the UK, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australasia, the new certifications will enable retailers to accept contactless and NFC payments at the pump. With contactless capability built into the terminal’s screen, no additional reader hardware is needed to enable this feature. “With contactless adoption increasing around the world, Invenco sees the need to build this capability in as a standard feature for the outdoor payment product lines” comments Gillian Cooper, Head of Product Lines.
Visa and MasterCard cardholders can now expect an even faster, more streamlined self-service experience at the pump, in line with the Tap and Go facility offered in retail stores. Invenco will follow on with the addition of other popular contactless schemes such as American Express, JCB and Discover.
