RTC25: Coming Together to Talk All Things Convenience Retail

This year, attendees engaged in meaningful discussions centered around the evolving landscape of convenience retail, highlighting the critical role of remote management in ensuring seamless operations, the importance of unified payment solutions in simplifying transactions, and innovative strategies for maximizing productivity to better serve today's diverse consumer base.

20 Years of C-Store Tech

As we celebrate the 20th year of RTC, we want to recognize the unwavering support of our loyal attendees. A special shoutout goes to Town Pump and Tiger Fuel, who have joined us for every RTC since its inception way back in 2005!

Alan Quote about RTC

Big Event, Big Names

Speaking of retail partners, RTC25 featured an impressive list of c-store brands sharing their own strategies for success, including representatives from Kwik Trip, RaceTrac, Rutter’s and Maverik.

Convenience retail fan favorite Krispy Krunchy Foods was also in the house, sharing some of their digital strategies to get an edge on competing Quick Service Restaurants.

“Imagine a consumer who would never step into a c-store to buy dinner, but they see you on a 3rd party delivery platform. They have no idea their meal came from a c-store. Especially when they receive a product that is hot, fresh and familiar, they are surprised. It drives loyalty and steals an occasion from a QSR competitor.”

-Stacy Fields, Director of Marketing Technology, Krispy Krunchy Foods

Attendees also heard from industry-leading organizations like GSTV, Accenture, NACS, Consello Group and NexChapter.

Long-time industry expert and host of the popular Future of Convenience podcast, Frank Gleeson, was also there to reflect on 20 years of c-store innovation.

Tech Trends to Watch

The mainstage sessions and breakouts highlighted the essential themes of RTC, focusing on key topics that resonate with industry challenges and innovations:

  • Remote Management: We showcased the significance of remote management, demonstrating how it enables retailers to operate their sites continuously, ensuring efficiency and responsiveness in a 24/7 environment.
  • Unified Payment Solutions: A discussion on unified payment solutions shed light on how they simplify the complexities associated with EMV costs and certifications, making transactions smoother for businesses.
  • Maximizing Productivity: We explored strategies for maximizing productivity in sectors such as foodservice, particularly when it comes to understanding and catering to the preferences of Gen Z customers.

RTC25 also boasted a wide range of breakout session topics including:

  • Unlocking the best version of your c-store with APIs
  • Utilizing retail media to stand out from the crowd
  • Energizing your forecourt with EV charging
  • Simplifying your operations with the Hub – a single platform to power your c-store

“We really wanted a streamlined platform that's going to be combining our many different platforms that we offer into a single platform for you all to use.”

- Josh Lehman, Sr. Product Manager, Invenco by GVR

This year’s show also featured a breakout session on Passport Enterprise and how the containerized solution promises to be the future of convenience.

But Wait, There’s More!

If you couldn’t attend this year’s event, we’ll be releasing blogs and other bonus material based off the content shared by the experts in the RTC25 breakout sessions, so keep an eye on your inbox or your LinkedIn feeds.

The Journey Goes On

If RTC25 only proved one thing, it’s that our journey to redefine convenience together is stronger than ever! We’re so thankful to all the innovators, thought leaders, and convenience retail experts who helped make RTC25 in Chicago an incredible event.

Of course, we can’t forget the hosts of our evening offsite event, AceBounce, where fun and games were matched up with great food and drinks for all to enjoy!
