In front of a sold-out audience of over 800 at the Horncastle Arena in Christchurch, Invenco was named as the 2018 PwC NZ Hi-Tech Company of the Year having also made it to the finals in the previous year.
In accepting the award on behalf of the company, Chief Innovation Officer, Dan Harrell, said; “three years ago, Invenco made a significant pivot in its overall company strategy and it took a team of courageous people to carry that journey to where we are today.
“I would also like to thank Gavin Lennox our CEO, and Sir Peter Maire, our chairman, who keeps challenging our thinking and making sure we are taking it to the next level.” He went on to acknowledge the hard work put in by the Invenco team globally and what a “privilege it is to work with a great team of Kiwis and 31 other diverse nationalities at Invenco.”
Immediately after the event, the New Zealand Herald announced the winners and recognised Invenco for being “a great example of Kiwi-tech”:
“Invenco prevailed with its unique combination of extraordinary growth, scale and profitability,” the judging panel said.
“Invenco’s Outdoor Payment Terminal systems combine hardware, software, and data communications, showing Kiwi expertise in all these fields.
“Invenco’s revenues come from all over the world, as do its team members, but its Kiwi values of collegiality and tenacity shine through in ways that make Invenco a great global representative of New Zealand high tech.”
Invenco beat out other finalists – Pushpay, Vend, Serko and Straker Translations – for the top award.”
Being named as NZ Hi-Tech Company of the Year puts Invenco in elite company locally and positions it well to continue its growth and success story globally. It follows on from a number of other awards and accolades including being one of twenty NZ companies recognised in the 2017 Deloitte Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500™ Rankings and the 2017 EY TIN10 to Watch.
