Sir Peter is a professional investor and company director. He held a 90% stake in audio electronics company, Fusion Electronics Ltd., which was sold in 2015 to US navigation device giant, Garmin. Sir Peter was also co-founder and former President of New Zealand’s largest privately owned technology company, Navman NZ Ltd., before selling his shareholding to Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:BC) in 2004. Additionally, he was a director of Orion Healthcare NZ Ltd. from 2006-2011. Sir Peter is a regular supporter of academic projects and a mentor to many small technology companies. He has served on numerous Government boards and taskforce and is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand. He was knighted by the Queen of England on 1 August, 2009.
Dave joined Invenco as one of its founders and shareholders in August 2009. He began his career working in the defense industry in South Africa as a hardware and embedded software engineer specializing in radar, EW, and weapon systems. From there, he joined communications encryption equipment company CAT (Pty) Ltd. as a founding member and CTO. Over the next ten years CAT successfully developed a range of communication encryptors and hardware security modules. After the business’s sale to Comparex Ltd., Dave became a director of subsidiary Nanoteq (Pty) Ltd., where he led various divisions developing products and solutions for the global payments/security market with focus on European markets. He later joined Prism Secure Solutions as Managing Director before taking on the role of Director of Engineering for the Prism Group, delivering payment solutions and products for customers including BP, Shell, Caltex, Petronas, Telekom Malaysia, Vodacom and Smartcom. In 2002 Dave started a consulting company, RedPay, specializing in Payments and Payment security. He moved to New Zealand in 2005 to join Invenco’s predecessor, Cadmus Ltd., as CTO and continued in various roles with Invenco until 2017. Dave continues to be actively involved in new product development at Invenco. He holds an engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Matt Gibson was a founding partner of Invenco in 2009, and has provided essential guidance surrounding strategic, financial and commercial growth since then as Chief Financial Officer. Matt is responsible for the financial, commercial, and legal aspects of Invenco’s business and is an integral part of the executive management team working on company strategy. Among his many contributions, Matt has led Invenco’s teams into several successful partnerships, channel sales opportunities and a major SYSPRO ERP system implementation throughout his time with the company. He spent five years with Invenco’s predecessor, Provenco, as their Chief Financial Officer before Invenco’s establishment. Matt holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from The University of Waikato (New Zealand) and is a qualified CA member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Outside of his professional life, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and surfing. He resides in Auckland, New Zealand.
