Sir Peter is a professional investor and company director. Sir Peter is the co-founder and former President of Navman NZ Limited. Navman grew to be N.Z’s largest privately owned technology company and was involved in the development, production and global marketing of car navigation, marine navigation and fleet tracking systems. He sold his shareholding to Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:BC) in 2004 and resigned his position as Chairman at the end of 2005.

As the principal of Tahia Investments, Sir Peter is a substantial shareholder and director of Rakon NZ Ltd (NZX:RAK). Tahia Investments also owns Fusion Electronics Limited, a company involved in the development of automotive and marine audio / visual products. Sir Peter was a director of Orion Healthcare NZ Ltd from 2006-2011.

Sir Peter was awarded his Knighthood by the Queen of England on 1st August 2009. Sir Peter is a sought after speaker, regular supporter of academic projects and mentor to many small technology companies. He is passionate about technology and believes NZ, with its culture of innovation, is uniquely positioned to develop vibrant global technology companies.

Sir Peter’s commitments have included membership of the Government Growth and Innovation Advisory Board, being a foundation member of the NERF Advisory Panel (the Government ICT Taskforce), is an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand, and served as a Director on the Board of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
