Meet Invenco's Founders

Sir Peter Maire - Chairman

Sir Peter is a professional investor and company director. As the principal of Tahia Investments, Sir Peter is a substantial shareholder and director of Rakon NZ Ltd (NZX:RAK) and held a 90% stake in audio electronics company,  Fusion Electronics Ltd, which was sold in 2015 to US navigation device giant, Garmin.

Sir Peter was also co-founder and former President of N.Z’s largest privately owned technology company, Navman NZ Ltd before selling his shareholding to Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:BC) in 2004. He was also a director of Orion Healthcare NZ Ltd from 2006-2011.

A regular supporter of academic projects, Sir Peter is also a mentor to many small technology companies. He has served on numerous Government boards and taskforce and is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand.  He was knighted by the Queen of England on 1 August, 2009.

Dave Ritten - Director

Dave joined Invenco as one of its founders and shareholders, in August 2009. He holds an engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and is a registered professional engineer. Dave began his career working at ESD (a Barlow Rand Company) as a hardware and embedded software engineer specializing in radar, electronic warfare, and weapon systems.

He moved to Control Logic , becoming R&D manager, before joining communications encryption equipment company CAT (Pty) Ltd as a founding member. After its sale to Comparex Ltd, Dave became a director of Nanoteq (Pty) Ltd, where he ran various divisions developing products for the global payments/security market.

He then joined Prism Secure Solutions as Managing Director before taking on Director of Engineering for the Prism Group providing payments solutions for customers including BP, Shell, Caltex, Telekom Malaysia, Vodacom and Smartcom. In 2002 Dave started a consulting company, RedPay, specialising in Payments and Payment security. He moved to NZ in 2005 to join Invenco’s predecessor, Cadmus Ltd as CTO and continued in various roles with Invenco until 2017.  He continues to be actively involved in new product development.
